In 2017, Mathieu Labey launched Wheelskeep, providing supervised and mobile bicycle parking solutions for major sporting events, festivals, beach locations, and most recently, in the Lyon peninsula.
In September and October, during the pedestrianization trials of the peninsula, Mathieu Labey deployed his mobile racks in downtown Lyon. The entrepreneur was approached by Lyon Parc Auto to allow cyclists to park their bicycles for free in one of his secure parking facilities, Wheelskeep. This was a boon for the 39-year-old Lyonnais who conceived and launched this concept between the Rhône and Saône two years ago.
“Worldwide, the major problem with bicycles is theft. The theft of bicycles and accessories (seats, wheels, etc.). If you go somewhere by bike, you never know if you’ll be able to leave with it or if it will have disappeared. This removes all the freedom a bicycle offers,” emphasizes Mathieu Labey, a lifelong cyclist in numerous cities in France and abroad.
