Wheelskeep technology identifies each bicycle through a photograph combined with SMS or QR code identification (via the dedicated application). Wheelskeep “Keepers” will accommodate all vehicles, whether electric or active, skateboards or cargo bikes. Visitors committed to environmentally friendly mobility should appreciate this complimentary valet service…

Wheelskeep, pronounced “Wheels-Keep,” is a startup founded in July 2017 by Lyon-based entrepreneur Mathieu Labey. It is a mobile, turnkey valet solution for bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other mobility devices, as well as a range of optional services (washing, maintenance, repair) at urban bicycle parking facilities via the dedicated application. As its name suggests, Wheelskeep is a service—the first of its kind to our knowledge—for bicycle monitoring, relying on guardians who welcome bicycles at parking facilities and perform meticulous oversight from drop-off to retrieval, with user and equipment identification using anonymized data. Mathieu Labey had previously founded Glowbl, an enhanced video conferencing solution designed to facilitate remote work and reduce unnecessary travel. He continues to innovate on the issue of transportation that is too costly in terms of time and pollution with the creation of Wheelskeep, which promotes bicycle commuting by reducing the risk of theft—a major barrier to urban cycling for many city dwellers.

The Wheelskeep service provides bicycle security for users who do not have a lock or facilitates securing multiple bicycles for a family, for example. Similarly, cargo bikes and trailers that cannot fit in traditional bike storage facilities and dedicated parking areas are accommodated at Wheelskeep parking facilities, along with other sustainable mobility devices: scooters, skateboards, etc.
