Overview

We developed a temporary bike parking solution for PSG fans visiting the Parc des Princes stadium. Our solution provided secure bike parking facilities, encouraging fans to switch from motorized vehicles to bicycles.

Problem

Stadium-goers faced significant challenges in finding parking for their motorized vehicles. Illegal parking and subsequent fines were common issues. The situation was stressful and detracted from the overall experience of attending a match.

Solution

We created a temporary bike parking system near the stadium. This eco-friendly solution not only reduced the parking stress for fans but also promoted a healthier mode of transportation. The system is easy to use and quick, allowing fans to secure their bikes in less than a minute.

Ensuring the safety of your bicycle, helmets, and batteries while you are out and about

Wheelskeep was founded by Mathieu Labey with a simple observation in mind – for citizens to use their bicycles, they need to be able to secure them. This need became more apparent with the rise of electric bicycles, as cyclists found themselves burdened with their helmets and batteries. At Wheelskeep, we provide a secure, monitored parking service that is free for users. Not only do we ensure the safety of your bikes, but we also offer mechanical services. Our qualified bicycle mechanic, Hamed, is happy to adjust brakes, saddle height, or check tyre pressure free of charge.

This service is free for users and paid for by the event organiser.

In Paris, for example, PSG pays us for this service. The 16th district lets us store our barriers neatly between matches. The footprint is barely 8 m². When unfolded, our car park can accommodate more than 200 bicycles, including cargo bikes and scooters,” says the entrepreneur.

This lifelong PSG fan and new Wheelskeep user is amazed: “This bicycle parking service during matches is really great. I still don’t fully understand the business model, but I hope it lasts.”

When I tell him that his club covers the costs, he is delighted. “We may sometimes complain about their ticket pricing policy, but they really must continue to offer free bicycle parking.”

Fifteen minutes after the final whistle, the car park is empty of bikes. Ahmed will stay until 5 p.m.
Note that Wheelskeep is not the only company in this niche. Yaka offers the same type of service, particularly at trade shows and conferences.

They also work for football and rugby matches, Roland-Garros in Paris, and everywhere else.
