The worst thing about riding a bike is… when you have to get off! That’s why, wherever we go, we want to leave it in the safest place possible. And we don’t know any better than the Wheelskeep parking lots, Parking Partner of Ciclosferia 2025 and, among other things, the ones responsible for making possible the Eurobike bike racks or the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Wheelskeep has been in so many cities and events that the list would not fit here. But we can say that in summer they manage 13 parking lots on the beaches of the Basque Country, that they are the operators of Cyclo Parking Brussels, serving annually fifteen events such as the Brussels Opera, the Winter Market or the Couleur Café Festival or that, at the Paris Olympic Games, they deployed 75 parking lots capable of accommodating 90,000 bicycles at a time.
But there is more. Pilar Enrile, Wheelskeep‘s expansion manager, explains how since 2021 “we have deployed our parking lot at every home game of Paris Saint Germain or Toulouse. At the Lyon Cargo Festival 2024 we had more than 1,500 spaces, we have been at Eurobike since 2021 and we offer seven parking lots for 4,500 spaces at some stages of the Tour de France.”
Facilitating good parking is key to getting people to use bikes, and Wheelskeep is a revolution. It is a system so agile that you do not need to register: when the user arrives at the parking the keeper asks for the phone number and takes a picture of the bike: the user receives a welcome SMS with the schedules and, when leaving, confirms with the keeper to be the owner of the bike. All with maximum guarantees: they have not suffered a theft since 2019.
“Our goal,” explains Enrile, “is to collaborate in events, but above all to stay in the cities to promote active mobility and intermodality.” To achieve this, their parking lots are illuminated, have a custody service for helmets or batteries and offer basic tools to adjust your bike.
Key ingredients to solve one of the great challenges of urban cycling: ensuring that, once you have completed your ride, you can be sure that your bike is safe and sound.
